So one day you find yourself with an empty essential oil bottle–or several–whaddya do with them? Here’s how to clean them, and 8 ways to repurpose them!
To Clean…
1.) Take apart your oil bottles (the dropper, the lid…the label doesn’t have to be removed for this but you can do so if you wish)
2.) Put your oil bottle, dropper, and lid in a glass container, fill, and cover with Epsom salts. Leave for 24 hours. (The salts absorb all of that remaining oil.)
3.) Store your sweet smelling bath salts in a pretty container and keep in your bathroom for some You Time later on!
Mmkay, Girl, so what now…?
After your oil bottles are all cleaned out, you can use them for one (or several) of these ideas!
Travel Oil Set: Make your own set of travel oils for your purse, diaper bag, or vacay!
Travel oil ideas:
- Breathing/allergy support. Sometimes traveling to new places can trigger allergies! (Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint are an awesome trio for soothing those flare ups!)
- Digestion. Trying new foods on your vacay or eating something greasy on a date night? You’ll be SO glad you brought your tummy support oil! (My favorite is Young Living’s Digize!)
- Immune system boosting. Traveling to new places means exposure to new germs, areas, climates, etc. Promote your body’s over all wellness on the go with your favorite immunity oil. (I’m totally a Thieves girl!)
- Sleep. The excitement, missing your bed, and being somewhere new can effect your sleep. Who wants to be exhausted while trying to have fun? Not me! Bring your superhero sleep oils along with you! (Lavender + Cedarwood are my FAVES for encouraging a good night’s rest!)
Roller Bottles – Stick a roller fitment on top and use it as a roller bottle for one of your favorite blends!
Fill with favorite diffuser blends – Get creative and make your own EO blends to diffuse, to wear, or to share! Set the bottle beside your diffuser for easy access when you’re ready to diffuse.
Share with a friend – Share the love! Give a sample to a friend, fill with carrier oil (Or nah!) (ideas for what to share: Sleep support, hormone support, allergy support, oils/blends for stress)
Make Pre Dilute bottles for kiddos – Make a pre diluted, ready to go bottle of EO/an EO blend for your kiddos or for a friend!
Store Oils in Another Room: I used to dash from room to room to find my lavender because I used it for so many things around my home…skin care, sleep, allergy support, etc. (It’s one of my most used oils!). It makes it super convenient to fill an empty bottle with something you use a lot to keep in different rooms/areas of your home/purse/vehicle!
Carrier Oil Holder: Fill it with carrier oil to keep in another room, on the go, or as part of your Travel Oil Set!
