On the first day of Blogmas I did a Day in the Life–A Monday. So it only felt “right” to end Blogmas with a peek into our weekend! 🙂
Saturday
6:50-7:15 a.m. — There’s not normally any sleeping in on the weekends around here. We all get up at our normal time, except for Chance who actually did sleep in this day.
I also still don’t do anything fancy for breakfasts on weekends. Every now and then I might cook “brunch” but because we had a play date this morning, we just had good old prepped pancakes.
7:30-8:30 a.m. — I’ve been posting my Blogmas posts early in the mornings. So I hopped on my computer for a moment to get that proof read and posted both here on the blog and as a link in my instagram stories!
After getting that posted, it was time to get myself and the littles ready to head out for our fun morning plans. My goal was to all be loaded up by 8:45 but we didn’t actually leave until about ten minutes after. Thus is the life of a mama with two toddlers haha.
9:00-9:30 a.m. — We arrived at our favorite local coffee shop where we met my mama for a quick lil coffee date. I had a White Mocha, Irish Cream, and cinnamon iced latte (half sweet!), Nora had a chocolate milk, my mama had a London Fog, and Sawyer munched happily on some pretzels.
It was a rainy morning which made it extra cozy to just sit and enjoy our drinks with one another in the warmth of the shop.
9:30-10:00 a.m. — We headed to the library to meet a friend for a play date! Our Library has an enclosed children’s play room that’s just the best. I have utilized this room so much since discovering it. It’s one of my favorite places to take the littles. We do the coffee shop / library a lot of times on saturdays. Whether it be as a family or to meet a friend.
10:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m.— Had lots of fun with our friends and then left to go scoop up “Dada” for some Christmas shopping!
12:15 p.m. — On the way back, we picked up a pizza to bring home for a quick lunch! Pizza is Nora’s favorite.
1:00-3:00 p.m. — Naps were skipped and you could tell haha. But we knocked out some of our Christmas shopping and headed home!
3:00-4:30 p.m. — We kinda just all lounged around and enjoyed the rainy day. The littles watched a show and I read a book. Said book was not turning out to be my favorite, so I decided to DNF it and move on to the next book in my December TBR.
4:45-5:00 p.m. — Ate a very simple dinner. Then put Nora and Sawyer in the bath to splash and play for a bit before bed.
5:15-7:00 p.m. — I got a lot read in my new book which I was pleased as punch about! I often utilize their bath time to my reading advantage haha. But after a while it was time to get them out, brush their teeth, wiggle them into their pajamas, and kiss them goodnight.
I also cleaned the kitchen during this time! I love her at night in all of her tidy, cozy glory. She serves us well.
8:00-12:00 a.m. — You read that midnight part correctly. Chance and I always stay up late on weekends. A lot of times we will binge our favorite show or do our own thing in the same room together. This night it was a bit of both! (We’ve been enjoying the Chosen series on Netflix!)
After a few episodes, I got Blogmas Day 11 prepped and ready for posting. When that was good to go I worked on my knitting project while watching some of my favorite youtubers. I’m so close to being done with the shawl I’m working on. I’ll have to share it once I’m finished!
About 11:30 I read my book for about 15 minutes before deciding I could no longer stay awake. I turned out my bedside lamp and was out quickly after! //
Sunday
6:55–7:15 a.m. — You know the drill. Wake up, yawn, and squeeze my sweet boy who is very up and at ’em and quite anxious for me to actually get up out of bed. Nora and Chance still aren’t awake, so Sawyer hangs out in the bathroom with me while I brush my teeth and pick out my church clothes. (I normally have them picked out the night before but sometimes I do be lazy.)
7:20–8:30 a.m. — Nora has woken up by this time. On sundays they get to eat their pancakes in the living room (without syrup, if you remember from my Monday DITL) while watching a favorite show. This gives me just the right amount of time to sneak away and finish getting myself ready for church.
8:45 a.m. — I got ready pretty quickly so that I could tie up the last ends of Blogmas Day 11 (12 Days of Christmas Book Tag!). I still needed to take the photos for it before posting. I took them, got them edited, into the post, and the post was published! Yay!
9:00-9:30 a.m. — It doesn’t take me very long to get Sawyer and Nora ready. I slipped some cozy sweaters over their heads, did their hair, put their shoes on, and by the time Chance was done getting ready–so were we! We headed out of the door to Sunday School!
10:00 a.m. -12:15 p.m. — Nora went to her Sunday school class and Chance and I went to ours! (Sawyer went with us, he always does for now!) After SS, we head to the main service, except for Nora who stays in her class.
12:30-1:30 p.m. — We always have lunch with our family after church. I love all being together!
2:00 p.m – 3:30 p.m. — After a quick walmart stop, we head back home. My sisters come over after lunch on Sundays for a couple of episodes of Gilmore Girls and lounging around after everyone’s busy morning. They’ll pick up/bring favorite coffees and pastries and we just spend the afternoon all chill ‘n cozy like.
4:30-6:30 p.m. — Our typical evening routine begins once more. A very simple dinner (I don’t cook on sunday nights, we always have something very easy), baths, and bedtime for the littles.
7:30ish p.m. — And here I sit. Showered, sipping tea (iced actually), gathering up our weekend snapshots and moments to share with you tomorrow. You’ve caught up with me haha. By the time you read this though it will be Monday, the last day of Blogmas December 2022.
I’m a little sad that this is the last day, but I’ll be honest, it has also been a lot of work haha. But I do think it was a really fun challenge to myself and such a great opportunity to share some fun content! I truly did enjoy it so much and I sincerely hope that you did too.
I’m wishing you the warmest and happiest of Decembers! Merry Christmas, friends! //
