Do you desire REAL and beautiful relationships? Maybe it’s with a guy, parents, siblings friends, GOD, or even yourself. Do you need encouragement? With life, your current situation, following your calling, or womanhood? Need something to challenge yourself and your faith? Want some good Godly wisdom? Feel alone? Pursuing authentic beauty? If you’re looking for any of those things or just books to scribble onto your “Summer Reading List” ….giiiiirrrllllll…have I got the books for you! These are books I honestly just want to carry around a bajillion copies of in my purse, and just hand ’em out to my fellow gals and be like “THIS COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE NOT EVEN KIDDING.” No. Really. It could. They will.
They are beyond encouraging, so beautifully, so gloriously written. Easy to follow along with, and terribly hard not to love. The guys, girls, men, and women, who wrote these books have some serious wisdom, total understanding, and such Godly/Biblical perspectives that challenge you and your faith.

I’m sharing them with you ladies today. In hopes that you too find the immense encouragement, joy, laughs, thoughts, challenges, hope, wisdom, and loveliness that I found inside of each and every one of them. At the end of each description, I have provided a link where you can purchase the book! (In my own effort to save some money, I bought my copies from Amazon, which is where they are linked!)
1.) Do Hard Things | Alex & Brett Harris
Do Hard Things, the “Rebelution”, the “teenage rebellion against low expectations”, the “glimpse of what is possible for young people who actively resist cultural lies that limit their potential”. A call to prove the world’s low expectations of us and our abilities wrong. That we are capable of good things. Big things. Huge changes in our world. To not be shy and get out there with what we’ve got and give God our all. To do the unexpected. To rise up and be leaders, doers, and whatever it is God has called you to be and do. To be it. To do it. In the home. In the community. In the church. In the world. You can find this book here!
2.) Set Apart Femininity | Leslie Ludy
Such a real and relatable book. Leslie speaks of the pursuit of authentic beauty, challenges your relationship with God, addresses issues such as self comparison, talks about what it really means to be a “set apart” woman, finding fulfillment, romance/relationships, and so many other girly topics! Each chapter is filled with wisdom, encouragement, challenges, and scripture to top it all off! You can find this book here!
3.) I Kissed Dating Goodbye | Joshua Harris
Wow, wow, wow, wow. One of my all time favorites. I know the title is like…”ummm what??” But, girl (or guy!! It isn’t a girly romance book by any means!), I promise this is probably the best “relationship advice” book you will ever read. Joshua Harris speaks on the subject of relationships and dating. Giving his experiences, and wisdom on a new perspective of dating and finding/getting to know that special person in a way that honors God AND your sweetheart (or future sweetheart). THIS is a book I wish I could give to every young person who is either wanting a relationship or is already in one). The whole time I’m reading it (might I add that I’ve read it multiple times…as you can see from its terribly worn cover.) I’m like “YES.” “AMEN BRUTHA.” “YESSSSSSSSSSSS.” “EXACTLY.” “DUDE YOU LEGIT JUST WORDED THAT SO PERFECTLY.” Joshua Harris’ book is so real, so easy to read, so wonderfully written, and if you don’t read any other book on this list, at least read this one. I’m begging you. You can find this book here!
4.) Joyfully At Home | Jasmine Baucham (Holmes)
One thing I love about this book, is how real Jasmine is. How vulnerable and relatable her book is. Jasmine pours out her heart writing about the struggles of being a young woman, finding real joy, her discouragement, her thoughts, her feelings. Yet Jasmine brings encouragement, new perspectives, new attitudes, challenges, and Biblical truths to the table. She’ll make you laugh, she’ll make you think, she’ll make you feel like you’re not alone. This book is fantastic. You can find this book here!
5.) Let Me Be A Woman | Elisabeth Elliot
“In order to learn what it means to be a woman, we must start with the One who made her.” // Written by Elisabeth Elliot in 1976 (an oldie but a reeeal goodie!) and given to her daughter Valerie on her wedding day. Elisabeth writes about Biblical womanhood, what Biblical womanhood looks like, being a single woman, being a wife, and so, so much more! Elisabeth Elliot shares her observations, experiences, and wisdom of what it looks like to be a real woman. So good. You can find this book here!
These books are so worth the read, and I really hope you take the time to read at least one of them. Lemme know if you decide to snag yerself one (or a few!). I would love love love to hear your thoughts on whichever you choose! And, hey, maybe you’re not big on reading, so maybe find an audio version of them and listen to them throughout your day. I’m telling ya, the wisdom is worth it. //

When my daughters were in high school, I bought them “Do Hard Things” and “I Kissed Dating Goodbye.” Great books.

My oldest daughter, her high school’s prom queen, laughed about the suggestions in Kissed Dating Goodbye, but later thanked me for buying the book. The first time her and her husband kissed was after taking their wedding vows. (They now have two kids and a third on the way). God is good.
