A good iced caramel latte, or even a hot one, is such a classic in my book. It’s my go to, my “comfort order”, my favorite. Whether I’m ordering from a coffee shop or making my drink at home, this is what I pick nearly every time.
This particular caramel syrup is the best I’ve ever, ever had. Because it’s a true caramel, and the taste just goes above and beyond any artificial flavoring and typical shop syrups. It’s rich, it’s smooth, and I’m telling you, it’s perfect.
On another note, this is the second post of our “Her House Coffee” series! Woohoo! If you missed out on the first one, How to Make an Iced Caramel Latte, you definitely need to go check that out. You’ll also learn a little bit about what this series is all about, how it started, and what other coffee related posts you can look forward to!
I encourage you to use this Caramel syrup along with that recipe to truly achieve exactly how I make my favorite drink at home! It’s absolutely delicious.
(Note: This syrup doesn’t have to stop at coffee! It’s also so yummy drizzled over ice cream, cheesecake, or as a dipping sauce for apple slices!)
You will need….
- 2 Sticks of butter
- 3 cups of brown sugar
- 2 cups of heavy whipping cream
- 3 Tbsp of vanilla
- 1/4 tsp of salt
- A container or bottle to store
- A medium saucepan
To make…
You’re going to start off by melting your butter and sugar together on low to medium heat. Whisking together constantly to make sure the two are well combined and that there are no lumps of sugar.
Once thoroughly combined, add in your salt and heavy whipping cream. Whisk together and bring mixture to a bubbling boil. Let bubble for 2-3 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
When the sauce has begun to thicken, remove saucepan from heat and add in vanilla. Stir.
Let sauce cool, then pour into container of choice.
